It’s so important that before we ever get to this season we have done everything we can to grow our roots deep into God’s word and build a solid foundation of truth. When we are so focused on the flames, and on the pain, we experience it can be so hard to see God, and we are left wondering if He’s abandoned us. If he can starve our souls we are that much easier to break down. He drives us away from anything that can feed our weary souls a shred of hope and drives us into isolation especially when we are engulfed in flames.
